GoSmarter

Year 7 pupils were given the chance to learn about the benefits of sustainable travel thanks to an interactive live theatre show delivered as part of the Schools Go Smarter programme.

Why Queue – performed by drama company, The Riot Act brought active and sustainable travel to life through performance, song and audience interaction.

The performance aimed to inform, educate and entertain pupils about the positive benefits of travelling sustainably. From walking and cycling to school or travelling by bus and Metro, Why Queue used humour, music, multi-media and popular culture to help students understand all the different travel options available to them. The fun and lively performance took learning out of the classroom and into an environment where pupils could interact with the performers and learn in a more engaging way.

The year 7s really enjoyed it. The performers were excellent and the production was very cleverly put together to portray an important message about travelling sustainably to school. Now we hope the students put into practice what they learnt.
